Dear Sathish sir, found in the field just means field and not crop fields. They are found commonly in the grasslands may be thats one reason why they are called so. It a widespread plant found from Tropical Asia to Australia. Poly means MANY and gala means MILK, may be because it bears milky latex in greater amount comparatively. Regards Pankaj
