Just read this on Wikipedia
*"× Oncostele*, abbreviated *Ons.*, is a hybrid genus
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_name> of orchids
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orchid>, used for greges
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grex_(horticulture)> containing at least one
ancestor species from the genera *Oncidium
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oncidium>* (*Onc.*) and *Rhynchostele
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhynchostele>* (*Rst.*)"
That fits perfectly with my interpretation of formation of names of
nothogenera.
