... and yes, the seemingly seed-like structure is the nut ... just as in case cashew-nut ... which is botanically the actual fruit, the other swollen part -- orange coloured in case of S. anacardium is the false-fruit ... it is the swollen stalk of the fruit ... known as the hypocarp.
