Got the feeling that *Trapa natans* may have lent its name to *C.
sativa*... my impression:
*C. sativa *is a non-native, introduced, and planted as an ornamental or
perhaps even cultivated for its fruits, while *T. natans* is a native plant.
Hence put my response.
