Nomenclature of *Elaeocarpus tectorius* (Lour.) Poir. appears to be quite
confusing.
CoL
<http://www.catalogueoflife.org/annual-checklist/2019/details/species/id/b0fe8b1448f5063d08c496e4f406e288/synonym/f00fdbe805e492a07e2e1b7003bca7fc>
lists it as a syn. of *Elaeocarpus robustus *Roxb.
POWO
<http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:833977-1>
lists it as an accepted species.
However, this genus has been revised in S.India as per Revision of
Elaeocarpus (Elaeocarpaceae) Section in South India & Sri Lanka – Jstor

 : Sue Zmarzty Kew Bulletin Vol. 56, No. 2 (2001), pp. 405-447. As per
this, it should be *Elaeocarpus variablis* Zmarzty, *Kew Bull. 56: 429 2001*.
