Thanks, Radha ji. Flora of Pakistan <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=116482> gives the following keys: 13 (12) <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=116482#KEY-1-12> Sepal tips erect or slightly curved 11 Ipomoea nil <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=210000742> + Sepal tips curved to one side, at least when plants are in fruit 9 Ipomoea hederacea <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=230002816>
Flora of Pakistan <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=210000742> further says 'This species (*Ipomoea nil* (Linn.) Roth) and *Ipomoea hederacea* Jacq. are very similar. Some authors have switched the names or considered them synonymous. One or both play an important part in the ayurvedic medicines. The seeds are used as a purgative.' Going by images in POWO 1 <http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:268998-1> and POWO 2 <http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:1071575-2> and keys in Flora of Pakistan <http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=116482> above, I think it should be Ipomoea nil <https://efloraofindia.com/2011/03/08/ipomoea-nil/> On Sun, 29 Aug 2021 at 21:27, radha veach <[email protected]> wrote: > This plant was growing in disturbed ground in Thane district.
