Thanks, Bharathi ji, Yes, leaves appear to match with images at Lagerstroemia parviflora <https://efloraofindia.com/2011/03/11/lagerstroemia-parviflora/> I feel the trunk in the foreground may be of some other tree. In the 2nd image, the trunk in the background may be of this species, from which leaves may be arising.
