Thanks Dinesh ji for posting the photographs of this plant. The leaves when lighted using a match stick / or any other source they start burning like a wick in a lamp, of course without the oil ! That's why it is called Pandavara batthi. Mythological story says that *Pandavas* during their exile (vanavasa in the forests ) used the leaves to light-up. This is commonly seen near BRT forest range and Coorg area.
