Schoenoplectiella articulata (L.) Lye or Scripus articulate, common aquatic 
plant. Can it grow completely submerged? As I have found it growing in deep 
water bodies. The reeds are hollow to ensure flow of oxygen to roots like 
most aquatic plants.
