The tepals have fallen down here and the persistent calyx tube has enlarged and clasping the base of the fruits. This is the characteristic feature of the genus Phoebe and the only way to distinguish it from the closely related genus Machilus. The elongated fruiting pedicels, articulated towards base, clearly point to Phoebe bootanica. Regards, Tapas
