Dear Garg ji
Thank you for your reply and clarification. According to Flora of West
Bengal, Volume 4 (2019) as well as Flora of India, Volume 22 (2024), the
leaves are opposite when young, alternate later. Next, Flora of Sikkim,
Volume 1 (2023) mentioned that the leaves are mostly opposite.
So, this plant belongs to Litlea lancifolia only.
