A detailed description can be found in Dr Almeida's flora which I don't
have with me right now.
Syn. *Centratherum tenue *C.B.Clarke in Compos. Ind.: 4 (1876) and *
Phyllocephalum
tenue *(C.B.Clarke) Narayana in Curr. Sci. 51: 439 (1982).
I found this link online:
https://indiaflora-ces.iisc.ac.in/FloraPeninsular/herbsheet.php?id=1636&cat=7
The phyllaries are quite different from *P. scabridum *and flowers are
smaller. Overall the plant is noticeably different and has been a source of
confusion for a long time.
Please see detailed photos of what I believe is P. lilacinum according to
Dr Almeida's description.

I am copying this mail to Sushant More, who might have more inputs.
