Hi All,

I joined the group yesterday. @J.M. Garg sir, Thanks for letting me in.

I would like to introduce myself as Dr. Bharat Goel. I have completed a
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in the Department of Pharmaceutical
Engineering & Technology, IIT (B.H.U.), Varanasi, India. During my Ph.D., I
worked on the phytochemistry and medicinal chemistry of two plants, Ipomoea
nil and Gloriosa superba. From these plants, Two new compounds (previously
undescribed), along with several known compounds. All the isolated
compounds were characterized by 1D (1H, 13C and DEPT-135), 2D (HSQC, HMBC,
COSY and NOESY) NMR, LC-MS spectral techniques. Further, Major isolates
were derivatized by semisynthetic modification to optimize the biological
activity. I am well-versed with the structural elucidation of small
molecules using various NMR spectral techniques.

After completing PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof.
Lloyd W Sumner at University of Missouri-Columbia, USA. In this role, my
focus was on developing a database specifically for the Nuclear Magnetic
Resonance (NMR) analysis of natural products. I also conducted independent
work utilizing NMR, LCMS, and GCMS instruments. Additionally, my research
involved plant metabolomics and the isolation of natural products through
the application of the UHPLC-MS-SPE-NMR technique.

Presently, I hold a position as Assistant Professor at Amity University
Punjab, India.

I request you all to suggest any indigenous plant name that has not been
explored much, and it should be available. I'll appreciate any suggestions.

Best regards
Dr. Bharat Goel
