   - This vine found above 1,600 metres (observed at 2,100 m)
   - Woody climber (liana) with stems that are terete, heavily tuberculate
   - 3-5 foliolate thick leathery leaves
   - Leaflets, 4 to 6 pairs of primary veins, low number
   - Mature leaflets, sub-entire, with very distant, shallow notches
   - Flowering & fruiting of *T. nilagiricum* typically occurs between
   December and March in the Nilgiris
