Subject: [efloraofindia:486334] Volunteering for tree data collection in
community gardens.
To: <[email protected]>

Hello friends,

Let me tell you at the outset with AI and free GIS software like QGIS and
Qfield it will be very easy to map tree with wonderful links of all mapped
species in India.Best part volunteers can be collectively using Qfield
lightweight software available for digitizing only once in Android. IOS and
Windows.

Can easily create catalog of any community garden.Aiming to start with
volunteers in Lalbagh, Bangalore as there is no walkable reference so one
can look at all the details right away in his phone with the tree in front
of him.It will be a Geopackage format file so easy to view in freely
downloadable software like Mapcache etc in addition to Qfield.

Very ,very excited after looking at the way we can share community gardens
, any suburb trees information.

Doing a small plotting of Alexandria Park Sydney trees which I will share .

Personal details : Prakash Swaminathan , Age 75 yrs.Volunteered for
spreading science in Agastya Foundation and routine nature walks around our
apartment Rennaissance Temple Bells , Bengaluru.

My goal is to spread excitement about our wonderful flora in more
interesting ways rather than stopping at identification. I never realised
there is so much enthusiasm.

Collectively we can do anything, I always believe in local data collection
with established ways of gathering data.

Back in Bengaluru on 5th March ,would like to meet interested volunteers .
gather in a way which will serve as a template for any trees and other
flora information.

Phone number is 9481032276 ,available on WhatsApp. Would be ready to take
it further anytime.

Regards,

S.Prakash
