Hello,

I'd like to offer some comments related to identification of some
photos posted on this site and FOI...

The photo here
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/Unidentified/slides/TS790.html
is an Evolvulus of some species.
the flower looks a bit large for E.alsinoides and similar to
e.arizonicus although unusual id E.arizonicus is growing wild in India

The bloom here
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Moon Vine.html
looks to have the sepals of Ipomoea violacea and not the sepals of
I.alba

The plant in the photo here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ipomoea_turbinata_(Gariya)_in_Hyderabad,_AP_W_IMG_9714.jpg
http://groups.google.co.in/groups/profile?enc_user=3xp9IBEAAADAl5_zOHNQIOYVG_ykFkrqkdEasx1kiYTQavV7mdW13Q
looks to be Ipomoea cordatotriloba based upon the appearance of the
sepals

Ipomoea batatas
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Sweet Potato.html
is not technically a climber because it does not twine

The current accepted binomial for the following
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Tambarvel.html
is Stictocardia and not Ipomoea

The following entry
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Spotted Heart.html
questionable as tiliifolia has a pale bloom and is more likely either
S.beraviensis or S.macalusoi
related synonyms include the following :

Synonym:Argyreia tiliifolia
Synonym:Ipomoea tiliifolia
Synonym:Rivea tiliaefolia
Synonym:Stictocardia tiliafolia
Synonym:Stictocardia tiliaefolia

The following as Merremia umbellata
http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Hogvine.html
may be questionable based upon the white flowers and the shape of the
blooms

The following
http://groups.google.co.in/group/wildflowerindia/browse_thread/thread/f166fdc79d8f7520/380190c6d6699fca?lnk=gst&q=Ipomoea#380190c6d6699fca
is Ipomoea triloba

Regarding the following thread
http://groups.google.co.in/group/wildflowerindia/browse_thread/thread/49aaedfd56d52399/c4524e9f374587ae?lnk=gst&q=Ipomoea#c4524e9f374587ae
There seems to have been some confusion of Ipomoea marginata with
Convolvulus arvensis on the following thread

I hope my offerings are deemed worthy of some review.
