Elephantopus scaber L. Sp. Pl. 2: 814. 1753

Type: Lectotype = "Ana-schovadi" in Rheede, Hort. Malab., 10: 13, t. 7, 1690

IPNI says this is cosmopolitan in distribution in tropics so that
means it is found in both New and the Old World. I assume Dinesh sir
already knows about old and new world. What ever may be the case, this
plant was described for the first time from India itself.

Pankaj
