Hello all I have been a member of "efloraindia" for a week and I am very impressed with the activity and the knowledge that is shown via all the answers. This gives me hope to ID pictures from my upcoming trip to India in December!
For all of you that like to keep lists of your sightings, to photograph or identify all sorts of organisms I would like to suggest that you check out: www.globaltwitcher.com It is a free of charge and commercial ads website founded by a Swede but used by many others. It started as a birding site but has grown with other organisms. Lots of photos are uploaded, there is a forum for discussions and an ID-help page. You can print out checklists of birds when travelling or search for photos. As it started in Sweden almost all Swedish and north european species are added. Birdlists are complete worldwide. For some other groups like mammals the coverage is good too. When it comes to plants there are just too many out there and it will take many years if ever, to cover them all. But if someone want to add some from india you are of course most welcome. Regards Katarina Stenman Biologist & Student course advisor University of UmeƄ Sweden
