Raghu ji, Thanks for sharing.
Many sedges and non-poaceae members like Typha are present in your list. The list is very useful for me as most of the species can be a source of income for the farmers. Many of these species are very reputed Ethnoveterinary medcines. Hoping that you have documented the local uses in detail. Typha and Apluda are used for thatching whereas Nela Hullu roots are added in popular smoke for patience suffering from hemicrania. If I am not wrong most of the local names are similar to the names I collected during surveys with my researcher friends in Dharwad. You are doing great job. My sincere suggestion is to give little more emphasis on Traditional medicinal knowledge while taking beautiful pictures. regards Pankaj Oudhia http://pankajoudhia.com On Sat, Dec 4, 2010 at 12:22 AM, raghu ananth <[email protected]> wrote: > * > * > * > * > *"Come dusk and villagers return home after a hard days’ work, sometimes > in their bullock carts & bicycle, at times walking, carrying their burden on > their shoulders mainly green herbage to for the domestic animals awaiting in > cattle shed – this scene never fails to delight me.
