Two types of galls are commonly seen in *Pongamia pinnata*: one with
elongated swellings on leaf-surface, caused by *Eriophyes cheriani*; and the
other with globose, hard, 5-8 mm dia., spherical structures that are often
mistaken for normal fruits, caused by *Asphondylia pongamiae* (Source: Mani,
M.S. 1965. Key to plant galls from India. Bull. Bot. Surv. India 7: 89-127).
