Dr. Raman:
I think you are right, this is the 'Tulip" tree magnolia that we have
in the NE states, blooms are spectacular, jjust as the snow melts and
spring thinks its coming,often its  April 1st...
so I think you are right...
But ...how does one decide ...
Since there INNUMBERABLE hybrids of Magnolia....
 how does one really know which is it?
