Tree with peltate-hairy branches and leaves; leaves ovate, entire, stipules 
linear; flowers solitary axillary with jointed pedicel; calyx cupular, minutely 
5-toothed; petals pale yellow with crimson centre turning reddish in evening; 
fruit 2-3 cm across, 5-celled, 2-4 seeds in each.
