I sincerely feel that we should start with Dr. V.Singh's monograph, which
covers all taxa in the group as of now in India.

*Senna hirsuta* is common in the plains and lower hills of southern India.
Gamble has recorded Cassia tomentosa Willd. from higher altitudes of Nilgiri
and Pulney hills (introduced).
We collected only the typical var. of *S. septemtrionalis*.
*Chamaecrista nilgirica* sounds like endemic (to Nilgiri hills, TN). As its
not included in FPM or FBI, i think it is a recently described one.
