I agree with Gurcharan sir here. But there is one issue with the plant list. Its not complete and it will never be complete. So they have the benefit of doubt that it is incomplete :) I sometimes think, why there was a need of Checklist and then The Plant List separately..... Why couldnt it had been one? When we see the statistics, out of 1,040,426 plant names, 298,900 are accepted where as 477,601 are synonym BUT 263,925 ARE UNRESOLVED?? So even such experts are taking their time in understanding the descriptions probably!! And then there are many missing as per Gurcharan sir's mail, and I found many more too. How much time do we give to students to study their plants for PhD? For me, I nearly spent 6 years, just with 71 species. Even though I made mistakes :(, I always tried to put in the best of my efforts. In a normal process, how much time university gives a student (I started working 2.5 years before I actually got registered): at FRI University, max 4 years. You will be amazed to know that it took over 20 years for Dr. Sarat Mishra to write Orchids of Orissa with around 120 species and yes, he too made mistakes :( To end, I always say, ITS NOT WRONG IF I MAKE A MISTAKE, BUT IT WILL BE WRONG, IF I DONT UNDERSTAND MY MISTAKE.
