Reminds me of *Nymphoides indica* also known as *water snowflake...* very apt name... nice to remember it as...
often sold for aquariums and from there escapes into environs from careless throwing away by the bored householder... that's how most of the weeds take over new grounds/countries displacing the native... I personally do not know the natural range of this plant in India... some one more knowledgeable about water plants can enlighten us...
