Yes, it is paeoniifolius but all variaties are no longer recognised in
current literature as this is a very widespread and variable species.
For some interesting notes on the taxonomy by Amorphophallus expert
Wilbert Hetterscheid, see:
http://www.aroid.org/genera/speciespage.php?genus=amorphophallus&species=paeoniifolius

All names and varieties of this species nowadays synonymised
(campanulatus, decurrens, rex etc...) are the result of local
researchers looking at it with a view of its variation from a regional
point of view. If however the species is analysed in its entirety
throughout its distribution range the full variation becomes clear and
none of the characters used to describe the original names turn out to
be stable. Stable characters are the basis of any species, variety or
subspecies. This does not mean this species throughout its
distribution looks the same but it does mean that the variation
expressed locally from a taxonomic point of view no longer warrants a
separate status. From a horticultural point of view they are
different, from a taxonomic point of view they are not. I have
observed this species throughout S India and even there the variation
is huge, not only in shape but also in colour and size.

Pascal
