Thanks Gurucharan ji. Thats what I thought also. I read somewhere that variegata also can have 3 stamens. But the bark has knobs and blackish compared to purpurea which is more ash in color.
I am never confident about saying that its a variegata in all the trees I have seen in my walking domain. The moment I look at the bud, I see that its purpurea Raman
