Goodness!!! I would never ever have id'd this. Many thanks Ritesh. I am amazed! This must surely be a very rare tree. There are no pics on www. Just a herbarium specimen of leaves.
I thought it was very attractive with all those flower trusses. Had I realised its rarity I would have taken much more care with my pics and made sure I got good close ups to show the individual flowers. If I could just set the clock back! http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=ostodes+paniculata+blume&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1265&bih=605&tbm=isch&tbnid=En2YY4WMW8VVVM:&imgrefurl=http://www.iiim.res.in/herbarium/euphorbiaceae/ostodes_paniculata.htm&docid=q9kNF7wmJeQ-DM&imgurl=http://www.iiim.res.in/herbarium/euphorbiaceae/images/ostodes_paniculata.jpg&w=400&h=615&ei=vX_kTuzECMeS8gO6nIDaBA&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=1&sig=105278583670933560526&page=1&tbnh=126&tbnw=78&start=0&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0&tx=35&ty=63 http://zipcodezoo.com/Plants/O/Ostodes_paniculata/ Thank you Tanay for giving it so much thought. I take it that you also know this tree and are in complete agreement with Ritesh. =============================================================== On Dec 11, 5:51 am, Tanay Bose <[email protected]> wrote: > Awesome Ritesh Ji this the name which never came into mind how hard tried > this morning. > Thanks for reminding the name. > Tanay > > On Sat, Dec 10, 2011 at 7:19 PM, Ritesh Kumar Choudhary < > > [email protected]> wrote: > > This is Ostodes paniculata Blume > > > Family: Euphorbiaceae. > > > Regards, > > Ritesh. > > -- > *Tanay Bose* > Research Assistant & Teaching Assistant. > Department of Botany. > University of British Columbia . > 3529-6270 University Blvd. > Vancouver, B.C.
