A very speedy reply was sent to me from Madhuri Raut with the suggestion of....
......"just a wild guess any Palm like fish tail palm" I think it may have been a young palm. My 2 pics were taken at ground level if I remember correctly. Hopefully someone may confirm whether it is A Fish tail palm. Many thanks Madhuri for your help. Sheila. =============================
