I think you have solved our problem. Your plant seems to be S. discolor,
which has distribution in Western Ghats also. S. grossa is restricted to
Western Himalayas only. Your plant has flowers purple in colour and bracts
very small. Our plant from Chakrata is obviously S. grossa.
