Common name Silk cotton tree.Panju maram in tamil. Common in South
India. The negative aspects of the tree are:
1. Pollen are allergic.
2. The tree is a host for the wood worm which infect the wood of
mango trees, resulting in the death of the trees. Therefore, the
C.pentandra should not be cultivated near mango groves / trees.
