Shami vruksha or Banni mara in Kannada. During Dasara the Maharaja of Mysore used to worship the tree and cut one branch of the tree after the dasara procession on 10 th day. The place is Bannimantapa in Mysore. The tamil vanni is Prosopis cineraria.
