DEAR ALL: Try not , I repeat NOT to eat Neer Brahmi CHutney... its done
RAW... and neer brahmi needs a lot of mud and muck to grow... human
parasite eggs and cysts abound... in "natural" spots from where this brahmi
is collected and sold in markets...

Boiled, its a nice accompaniment to rice...and veggies... is also
hygienic...

One way one can perhaps eat it raw is wash wash wash in water.... then soak
for at least 20 minutes in potassium permanganate and then wash wash wash
wash....

too much work ....

OR GROW YOUR OWN IN A BALCONY ..pots and pots of them to make chutney
enough for a family of our... one meal...

Usha di

ps ... I just plant the semi woody bottom half of the twigs from the
bunches I buy in the market... though they do not root as easily as the
mint does, it does do well esp in june, july with monsoon rains... needs
high humidity... I have done it as a curiosity, not to raise a crop.
