Dear Dr.Neil and all,

This tree (with glands) belongs to the variety 2: bellirica (as belerica)
of C.B.Clarke (in Hooker's FBI).
This is what Roxburgh described as T. belerica based ONLY on the presence
of two glands. He named the most common non-glandular form as a different
species namely T. eglandulosa and later renamed as T. moluccana, which is
now synonymous to C.B.Clarke's Terminalia bellirica var. typica.

The number and position of the glands seem to be variable as we can see
from these pictures. Some have two pairs of glands, one at the base of
leaf-blade and the other on the petiole. In some the glands located at the
middle and in some near tip of the petiole. These glands are somewhat
inconspicuous when compare to that of other species. I don't know if the
glands persist or disappear when the leaves mature. At any case, this is
really interesting. If we find some solid differences, then the previous
status can be reinstated!

Thank you

Regards
