Dear Members
It gives me great pleasure in announcing that Dr. Michel Porcher,
who specializes in sorting plant scientific names and common names in
different languages and holds special interest in genus Citrus, has kindly
agreed to coordinate the Rutaceae week from May 7 to 13, 2012. With his
great knowledge and expertise we should see another very exciting week like
we had during Convolvulaceae week with the deep involvement of Dr. Ron.
I request members to show large scale participation by uploading both
identified and unidentified members of this family during this week, and be
ready with as many regional names as you can collect from published sources
as well as contacts with local.
I don't know whether I should divulge this secret or not, but felt like
informing you that Dr. Porcher has prepared an elaborate introduction for
you. This should go a long way in preparing the members for the week.
I am going to Kashmir tomorrow for nearly 45-50 days. I will be staying
at Jammu for 2-3 days and may be able to start interactions only after 4th
May when I reach Srinagar, and as such thought of writing this mail today.
