I think you are right. It does appear to be Duranta erecta.
Duranta erecta is mostly grown as a garden plant not for its flowers but
for nice glossy green foliage. It is often pruned to a reasonable height
and is not allowed togrow freely to produce flowers which are aften seen
only in large and tall plants. Hope I have shared something out of my
common sense assumptions.
Incidently as everyone knows apart from good nice bright green foliage it
also produces colourful flowers and equally colourful fruits too.All of
different colours.
