Garg Sir, Thank you very much for resurfacing the post for the second time.
Very little info is available in the net over identification of various Heliconia species, books are available though. A little while ago i searched again for more info, found - - an outline of classification - http://www.greenculturesg.com/articles/mar07/mar07_heliconia.htm - an image gallery containing a large number of images, but with no info - http://www.heliconia.org/plants_index.html - cultivars of *H. rostrata* - http://www.heliconiasocietypr.org/heliconia_cultivars6.htm - cultivars of *H. pendula* - http://www.heliconiasocietypr.org/heliconia_cultivars5.htm But, it appears to me that image comparison won't help identify this plant. However, one Heliconia seller informs- 1. *H. rostrata* will not flower outdoor in New Zealand - http://www.subtropical.co.nz/catalogue2.html 2. *H. pendula* "tall, half hardy..... survives and flowers outdoors in perfect shelter, warmth and bright dappled light - http://www.subtropical.co.nz/catalogue2.html A discussion at http://www.tropicsphere.com/main/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9616 also informs that *H. rostrata* is unlikely to grow outdoor. The leaf, the outdoor and the shade loving character of the plant, i posted here, suggests that it could be a *Heliconia pendula*. Yet, i propose to identify it as only *Heliconia* sp.
