Dear All respected Members, If this plant is *Hemiphragma heterophyllum*, as has been suggested / identified by Mohina Ji, then i must say it has some unique features -
1. only single species reported as per KEW data - http://www.theplantlist.org/browse/A/Plantaginaceae/Hemiphragma/ 2. no synonym recorded - http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/tro-29208131 3. again no synonym and with *three varieties* - http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=200020668 Let us see if this could be *Hemiphragma heterophyllum* - - distribution in Singhalila National Park - http://www.icimod.org/hkhconservationportal/Plant.aspx?ID=2728 - ".... Stem leaves opposite, flat, orbicular. *Branch leaves crowded, needlelike*....." - http://www.botanyvn.com/cnt.asp?param=news&newsid=821&lg=en - supporting the above a pic from flora of China - http://www.efloras.org/object_page.aspx?object_id=90589&flora_id=800 - flowers could be white or pink - http://web.me.com/robbiehart/Robbie_Hart/Research_Updates/Entries/2011/4/12_First_Flowers.html - one more pic - http://www.pfaf.org/user/Plant.aspx?LatinName=Hemiphragma+heterophyllum - yet another - http://www.hast.biodiv.tw/Photo/ImageDetailE.aspx?imageCode=0014183 - description of stem and roots arising from nodes - http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/potd/2008/04/hemiphragma_heterophyllum_1.php I think it is *Hemiphragma heterophyllum*, but i wonder how it is possible to id such a seemingly unknown plant !
