Balkar ji
Perhaps this is one thing we have to resolve. Most Indian books and
websites (incl. FOI) consider Indian plant to be A. pilosa, whereas I
thought our Chakrata plant as well as this one seems to me more as A.
eupatoria subsp. asiatica. Perhaps we have to keep watch on flower size,
fruit size and direction of prickles . According to Flora of China the
following should be expected in our area:
Agrimonia eupatoria subsp. asiatica: Flowers 12-13 mm in diam.; fruiting
hypanthium
8-10 x 5 mm including prickles, outer
prickles recurved, innermost
spreading; leaflets abaxially pubescent and
pilose, adaxially appressed
pilose.
Agrimonia pilosa var. nepalensis : Flowers 6-9 mm in diam.; fruiting
hypanthium 7-8 x 3-4
mm including prikles erect when young,
connivent when old; leaflets
abaxially densely pubescent or
tomentose-pubescent between veins,
sparsely glandular punctate,
adaxially hirsute or hirtellous on veins.
