Looks like Axonopus compressus (Carpet grass) which is a common and natural 
lawn grass found almost everywhere in the western ghats. There is a single 
vague inflorescence in the left bottom side of the photograph. If you could 
get a close up of any inflorescence, this can be confirmed.
