Satish ji Water body may not always be necessary for this plant where sometimes bare moist soil may be enough. I was surprised a find one patch in Delhi growing along roadside, partially rising (climbing) along the fencing. Perhaps rain water collected in monsoon was enough to set it growing, and it survived long after ground was more or less dry, flowering profusely.
