Some earlier relevant feedback: These are leaf-galls on Kakad [Garuga pinnata]. Please check the archives of this group for my photographs of this. With regards, Neil Soares. I hope it is Lannea grandis Marathi names are Shemat, Moien Leaf galls are common in this sp. not in G. pinnata- from Pravin ji Thank you Pravin ji. I am little confused after reading your email but since Neil ji is aware of gall formation on Garuga pinnata his reply seems convincing enough. The plant I had posted was just around 4 to 5 foot high ... not a fully grown tree. I have just one doubt that once a friend had shown me the Garuga pinnata tree and I remember that the leaves were very soft and velvety. In this plant the leaves are smooth but not velvety ... that is all i remember. - from Prashant Ambedkar ji. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Prashant Ambedkar <[email protected]> Date: 26 October 2012 23:27 Subject: [efloraofindia:136337] Plz id this wild plant: pa8 - 26oct2012 To: efloraofindia <[email protected]> Hi, I saw this interesting shrub in Yeoor region. In the third photo some curious things have grown on the leaves. The leaves are smooth, when i plucked a leaf / leaflet(?) there was no latex. -- Prashant -- -- With regards, J.M.Garg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jmgarg1 'Creating awareness of Indian Flora & Fauna' The whole world uses my Image Resource of more than a thousand species & eight thousand images of Birds, Butterflies, Plants etc. (arranged alphabetically & place-wise): http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:J.M.Garg.
