*Acacia farnesiana*. Family: Mimosaceae. Good to know this is present in Assam too. The pods are characteristic. Thick swollen rather than flat and almost joint-less as against those of Acacia nilotica. The branches are somewhat zigzag as seen here and yes the unforgettable fragrance. Called as Dev babhul देव बाभूल in Marathi.
