I remember seeing these in Hebbal lake adjoining to Forest dept.'s nursery, near Ananthapura/California Resort. Not sure if it is still present there. But it is commonly seen in many places in Bangalore in roadside canals and water-logged areas. Ganesh babu should be able to help you.
