Thank you Garg sir for your persistent efforts to resolve the pending identification. Thanks a lot Gore ji for your response. I just searched the species you mentioned on the internet and maybe it is Vigna unguiculata since the leaves of Vigna vexillata are quite slim in the pictures on the net. But hopefully some other experienced members would comment on this.
