Btw. for me it happens sometimes that all the screenlets forget their prior
(correct) positions and remember only this centered place. Then I have to
manually re-position them. It may be possible that this happens at compiz
(window manager) crash or closing to early or something like that when shutting
down.
I know to be correct this is a separate issue, but if there is work done at
this place in the code ... maybe this bug can be identified as well.

Public bug reported:
I have noticed that when starting up and shutting down the computer, the
screenlets do some interesting .. searching for dimensions. Some times
this means that when I startup, I see a flicker of the screenlets that
are all centered on the screen, and then fall into place.
I would like to request that there is a transparency fill over the
screenlets until they are positioned, at which time the opacity fades
in. This would provide a very smooth startup.
An option could be provided to toggle between the fade, and perhaps an
option to adjust how long the fade lasts.. but that would best be suited
for an advanced option in my opinion.
