Hi All, About 2 weeks back, I had fwded a mail from Vinay Pawar (known as Zoyd on irc), who had requested for subtitle translation of blender open movie - Sintel. We had got Hindi and Bengali done that time (Malayalam had already been done).
In an unfortunate fate, Vinay died in fatal road accident in Pune on afternoon of 9th October. He was to be presenting Sintel movie and Blender during PLUG meet which had just started and we were waiting for him when the sad news came in. He was active member in Pune LUG, Blender and IndLinux. At different times he had done some artwork and website stuff for Indlinux site. Hindi and Bengali were done that time. I request members of all language teams to contribute, so we can release all languages together. We're trying to translate the subtitles(dialogs) of the Sintel movie which was released on 30th Sep 2010(last weekend) into our languages and make it available for download. Translation would require encoding the .srt file and composed in respective script. Proper nouns, names of characters are merely transliterated. Most important is the use of appropriate words to convey the meaning of the phrase/word and this needs some thought/review.
