I think this question is better raised on aspell-devel list where it
may get better responses.

IIRC, aspell `breaks up' characters into 8bits for spellchecking; all
Indic languages use 16 bits. While this is not a problem for normal
usage, I suspect this is a major stumbling block for resolving our
issue. I am not sure though. I am not a programmer.
