(Datafile, controlfile, redologfile ... and backup file) ASM = Diskgroup + diskgroup + ... Diskgroup = Disk + Disk + Disk + ... Disk = RAW Device Mulai ada semenjak Database 10G. Jadi nggak bisa dipakai oleh instance 9i atau yg lebih rendah. Sama halnya RAID, tapi dilevel software. ASM bisa menggunakan existing RAID (hardware) yg ada.
