Please forward this to others too! To: [email protected] Cc: - Date: Wednesday, 30 September, 2009, 1:21 AM Hello there. Some 4 years on now and we’re still in this for the long run, even if in the end it just creates awareness for Enterprise… unjustly regarded by some as the poor cousin of Star Trek, thanks to the cancellation back in 2005. Look at how contemporary series happily continued with fewer viewers, surviving on DVD sales and other merchandising deals like Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, even animated shows like Family Guy and Futurama. All this leads me to conclude the decision to end Enterprise had a personal motive somewhere within CBS. The new film has undoubtedly proved useful to all incarnations of Star Trek, but for the time being at least, it's all about Kirk and Spock and will remain so for the foreseeable future... unless Executives somehow see the demand for reviving the series on TV. I had the crazy notion of passing out a Save Enterprise DVD free of charge, in hopes it might start a ‘pass it on’ chain. Here’s how I imagine this would work: Each fan who knows somebody else into Star Trek, hands on the disc, having backed up a copy of the parts they like to their home computer. Alternatively they can burn a new copy of it and print out a label, included as a JPG file on the disc and pass that on. Since it only contains advertisements, then that's a exploiting a grey area. Doing the studios job of promotion and publicity (something they did a poor job of back then) inviting others to seek out officially produced Enterprise products, on DVD or the novels published by Pocket Books. Maybe even create the urge to write to the studio demanding more (and there are so many loose ends to tie up: Future Guy's identity, The Romulan War, Shran joining the crew, addressing Trip's fate and more besides). Click here to see what you would receive… SAVE ENTERPRISE Star Trek DVD Bonus Disc Maybe we can drum up support with the fan base for more ENTERPRISE, such as a one-off movie, Season 5 or mini-series. As always, this is a flight-of-fancy and probably doesn’t have a chance of success unless each person plays their part. Whether distributing the DVD, passing this email onto another interested fan or sending a letter to a certain, infamous CBS Studios Executive. Let history never forget… the name – Enterprise..
